A few weeks ago, Katelijne of Mon Depot invited me to sew with fabrics of the Belgian children’s wear label Maan. Can you guess what my answer was?
I picked three fabrics. For Norah, I made a skirt and a blouse. For the skirt, I used my Super Simple Skirt with lining tutorial.
The fabric is a special little thing, best described a glorious whitish-pinkish-goldish- shiny-structured-metallic-glitter viscose. I used a pink voile for the lining, to enhance the pinkish shade of the fabric. I didn’t follow my own instructions too well, so it’s peeking from under the main skirt a bit (oops).
This main fabric of the skirt is still available in its silver/blueish variation.
The blouse is simply a shortened version of this future dress pattern, and with a different type of pintucks.
Unfortunately, the fabric from the top has already sold out. But no worries, there are plenty of other gems from the Maan collection still available. Like a Liberty Tana Lawn for just €12 per meter!
I also made something for Ava: a simple Tinny dress with pleats in the front.
I used a dreamy peach voile, which has unfortunately sold out already. I’ll show more pictures of the dress later this week, together with a tutorial for the pleats.
After the photo shoot, we took all the little models to a playground. Do you recognize the pretty girl on the left?
It’s Ava’s new best friend, Mona from Emma and Mona!
Many thanks to Katelijne for this wonderful opportunity, and the fun afternoon we had!
