Belgian textile designer Lotte Martens has just launched an incredibly beautiful Spring collection, called Let’s Party. As usual, all fabrics are special and completely unique. Although a few of them may look familiar, as Lotte also included some older crowd favorites too.
I picked Bromelia12, a fabric which I had used two years ago before for this dress, which has always been one of Norah’s favorites. The plan was to make a similar dress for her Spring Party this year, but the panel was just too short for that. So Ava was the lucky recipient.
Unfortunately, making the dress for Ava, also meant having to do a photoshoot with Ava, who was in no mood for a shoot. Though “photoshoot” is a very fancy word for a 5 minute session of me begging her to take her socks off (failed), to smile (failed), or to stand still for more that 1 second (take a wild guess). So in the end, I ended up with some unsharp pictures…
… some pictures in which the dress looks terribly wrinkled…
… one in which she looks as if she just farted…
… and a near nervous breakdown. As soon as the “photoshoot” was over, her mood changed, so I quickly shot some pictures of her as she was turning the building into a running track.
Luckily, a stunning fabric like Bromelia doesn’t need great pictures to show its potential, right? I truly adore this quality, and the stunning print of course.
Bromelia wasn’t the only fabric I used from Lotte’s new collection. Check back with me on Saturday to see what I made for Norah.
