Today I’d like to share another one of the Tinny’s which I made a few weeks ago, but didn’t have the time to photograph yet. Not that waiting to take pictures until we arrived in Arizona was a particularly brilliant idea. It’s way too hot for creative shenanigans here, so behold: another set of boring, uninspired pictures. You’re welcome.
This version is inspired by crazy Scandinavian children’s fashion a la Bang Bang Copenhagen: bold colors, fun patterns, and whimsical details. It includes some of the new options of Tinny 2.0: the color blocked bodice, the bow tie, and cute little faux pocket flaps.
The pleated skirt was already part of Tinny 1.0, and the pocket flaps are not entirely new either, as I already used them in this Hanami hack I made for Norah 2 years ago (blogged here):
This was one of the dresses I sewed up for Norah right before Ava’s birth, so it has a special meaning for me. The pocket flaps can be combined with the gathered skirt, but somehow I particularly like the combination with the pleats. I made the flaps a bit shorter than in the version of 2 years ago:
The fabrics I used are a pink solid from Veritas (which unfortunatly wrinkles like a m#!%é?§µ#er); some Cotton Couture Solid Gold (which you know I have to use it in at least 1/3 of the stuff I make) and some Harlequin fabric from RicoDesign (available over at Bambiblauw).
The Tinny is almost ready for testing! If you’d like to see some more sneak peeks, keep an eye on my Instagram, and on the hashtag #tinnyreturns.
