For my second creation for the Let’s Party Blog tour, I also picked a fabric which Lotte Martens had released before. Grus is a super fine crepe fabric: ultra light and breezy. Really the crème de la crème du crêpe, quoi.
I knew I was taking a bit of a risk with this fabric, because it is more fragile and unstable than, say, a regular cotton. I sewed super slowly and mega carefully, and so this blouse took me a looooong time to finish.
However, in the end, it was all worth it. I couldn’t imagine a more suitable fabric to make a breezy blouse from.
For the blouse, I used the same pattern as I used for Ava’s dress, but I made it shorter…
… I used a different pleating technique (zigzag instead of honeycomb)…
… and long, slightly puffy sleeves…
… with slit cuffs.
Not only the blouse is breezy; taking pictures of Norah was also a breeze. So I have a few more of them than I have of Ava. Just a few 😉
