A few weeks ago, I came to the startling conclusion that my kids have grown since last Summer. This ‘growing’ seems to be a recurring thing, forcing me to make new clothes for them year after year. Crazy.
I decided to make a few quick projects: some shorts, gathered skirts, and a few Hoppe jumpsuits. I bought a bunch of knits from Nosh (who had kindly offered me a collaboration opportunity) and spent a few evenings behind my machine.
For Norah’s Hoppe, I used a striped jersey in vanilla and nude rose. I couldn’t really decide whether to place the stripes horizontally or vertically, so I went for diagonally. Why make a tough choice if you can just avoid it?
For Ava’s jumpsuit, I used Nosh’s popular Joutsen print, and went for the mint version. Why use a different color than mint, salmon or mustard, if you can just be your predictable old self?
I was a bit worried that the print would be too big for my tiny three-year-old, but I actually like the rather bold effect.
For Ava’s jumpsuit, I used the pockets, because it increases that chance that she’ll want to wear it with around 300%.
Finnish fabrics for the win!
