Today, we’re teaming up with a bunch of sewing bloggers to organize a warm celebration of our friend Ines from La Folie Sewing Booth. Under the title “Inespiration”, we have all created something inspired by Ines.
I know Ines as a super kind, fun, and smart lady, and I have so much admiration for her talent to create beautiful garments for herself and her kids. So creating something inspired by her was actually a bit daunting. How to live up to Ines’s standard?
When I think of Ines, I think of three things:
– warm colors
– simple, minimalist creations
With that in mind, I dove into my stash, and resurfaced with a hammam towel I bought at Sissy Boy Homeland a few months ago.
I bought it with the specific purpose of using it as fabric. It cost around €12, and I only used half of it for this dress. Ava has already ordered one in her size too 🙂
The pattern I used is Laure. I combined the shift dress with the (shortened) regular sleeves.
The dress is very soft and warm. I hope it washes up well – I’m a bit worried about pilling.
I purposely made it nice and short; she’ll be wearing it with tights, so that’s okay.
Dear Ines, thank you so much for being such a wonderful part of the sewing community. I feel very lucky and honored to call you my friend, and I hope you’ll enjoy this little surprise 🙂
Thank you also to the wonderful Sara for organizing Inespiration.
