Making a blouse in 30 seconds (video tutorial)
Leah Duncan‘s Las Formas is one of my favorite fabrics ever. It’s voile, it’s colorful, it’s organic, and the two Las Formas skirts I made for my daughters last Summer are the items they have worn most in the past year.
A few weeks ago, Norah tore her skirt, and was on the verge of crying when I told her it couldn’t be repaired. Luckily, I still had about a meter of the fabric left (bought at Bellelien, here), and instead of a skirt, I made her a Nova blouse.
I went for the honeycomb pleats, even though the print is quite busy.
The honeycomb pleats are not difficult to make at all. But they do take a bit of time.
The trick is this: sew the pleats before you have some time to kill. Like, before a train ride, a car ride (as a passenger I mean!), a boring party, or an hour of Netflix. And then do the handwork (= connecting the pleats) while you’re killing time.
In fact, the entire blouse took me just 30 seconds to make. In the tutorial video below, I’m showing you how I did it. Well, sort of. 😉
