A few months ago, Katelijne from MonDepot asked me if I would be interested in curating my own fabric collection. Well of course I would! Not just because Katelijne is an amazing person, with whom I have been friends for many years now. Not only because MonDepot is a unique fabric shop, and one of my favorite on this planet. But also because it would give me the opportunity to work together with some other amazing ladies.
I asked for two wonderful Belgian bloggers to lend me their beautiful kids as models, and to help me with sewing the items. I was thrilled when Annick (MyMinnieMie) and Mieke (Sisko by Mieke) both said yes.
The collection includes 6 different fabrics. The first one is a beautiful, roughly woven but super soft blue fabric. Perfect for dresses, like the Ishi which Annick made for Eloise. Make sure to visit Annick’s blog to see more pictures of this beautiful dress.
But the fabric is also ideal for making jackets, like the Berlin coat test version I made for Norah:
The second fabric is has a similar structure. This orange cotton mix can be worn on two sides, with one being slightly lighter than the other. Mieke made a beautiful Tinny in this fabric; I made a Jaanu dress:
But I think the fabric could also make a wonderful Chanel jacket, or a stylish women’s dress.
Then we have two knits. Very special knits, in mint and blue. They have two layers, which makes them suitable for sweaters and sweater dresses too. They are super soft and easy to work with. Mieke improvised a beautiful dress for her eldest daughter, while I made the ADVTee which I already showed you this morning.

And then finally, the collection includes two knitted bouclés with glitter. Both the pink and the yellow version have a melee structure, and a superfine silver thread in it. Annick made a stunning Cocoon Dress (designed by the amazing Trine):
The fabrics don’t have too much stretch in them, so they can perfectly be used for projects designed for woven fabrics. I would love to make a loose sweater for myself in the yellow one.
So, these are the six fabrics. You can buy them over at Mon Depot. The first 50 orders will receive a little StraightGrain gift in their package (no, not a free pattern. Something small but stylish to pimp your creations).
Many thanks to Annick, Mieke, Katelijne, and of course our five stunning models!
