Stars to hug
Today, I’m part of the blog tour for the newest collection of Chat Chocolat, called ‘We’re all stars”. The collection consists of 6 fabrics: three jerseys and three sweater fabrics, both with stars and/or crosses. They areavailable in three warm and winterish colors: Stone Red, Forrest Green, and Night Blue.
I went for the night blue jersey. The stars are in metallic silver, and I love how it looks just like they have been embroided on the fabric.
I decided to make something for a pregnant friend who is due any day now. I went for a cute little jacket/cardi.
The pattern I used is “One To Hug” by Mind The Whale. You need to cut quite a few pattern pieces to make it, but once that is done, the jacket goes together easily. Unless you try to combine a jersey with a longhair fleece and make a few stupid mistakes, like I did. I think that I ended up spending some 8 hours on making the jacket. One hour of cutting, 3 hours of seam ripping, and 4 hours of (re)sewing.
But it was all worth it! It turns out that, if you have a stunning fabric and a great pattern, you end up with a beautiful result anyway. Even if you’re me. 😉
